Monica Kopf, 81, a longtime resident of Eldred, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in her home. Monica was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Bobalko) Crance. She was born March 27, 1942 in Cliffside Park, NJ.

Monica was the former owner of Highland General Store in Eldred, NY.

Monica was the widow of Vernon R. Kopf, who passed away on December 26, 2007.  They were married for 40 years.

A family statement reads: “Monica was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She had always enjoyed going to the casino, line dancing, classical movies, music and was a avid fan of ABBA. She will be forever cherished in our hearts and missed by all.”

She is survived by her two sons: Franz-Eric Kopf and his wife Judy of Eldred, NY, Christopher Kopf of Tacoma, WA, granddaughter: Morgan Kopf and grandson: Brendan Kopf and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Monica is predeceased by her husband, Vernon, her sister: Venice Hayes and her brother: Edward Crance.

Visitation will be held on December 10, 2023 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 SR97, Barryville, NY 12719

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 10:00Am at the funeral Home.  Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate.  Burial will follow the service in Montoza Cemetery, Eldred, NY.
