Henry J. Nordenhold, 86, a longtime resident of Hawley, PA, passed away at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center on June 7, 2023. Henry was the son of the late Henry and Johanne Nordenhold, he was born December 19, 1936 in Nassau, NY.

Henry was a retired bank manager/VP Emigrand Savings Bank, Manhattan, NY.   Henry was an avid baseball pitcher.  He practiced everyday pitching by the family barn.  Henry was a graduate of Georgia State University, where was recruited to play baseball.  After college he signed with the Cincinnati Reds, he was responsible for 15 wins pitching for the team.  In 1956 he injured his arm and was force to retire.

Henry was a ballroom dancer with his partner Maritza Guajardo, they remained friends his whole life.  

Henry is survived by his cousins: David Nordenhold and his wife Sue of Beach Lake, PA, Roy Nordenhold of Tyler Hill, PA, Kimberly Kabonick and her husband Michael of Damascus, PA, Mark Nordenhold and his wife Nicole of Hawley, PA, Henry’s longtime friend Maritza Guajardo.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, 9:00am at Glen Cove Cemetery, Kirk Rd., Narrowsburg, NY 12764.  Pastor Phyllis Haynes will officiate.
