Christine Garufi Elvin, 58, a longtime resident of Barryville, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.   Christine was the daughter of the late Vincent Garufi and Karen (Wilson) Flowers, she was born February 3, 1965 in Staten Island, NY.

Christine had worked for Crystal Run Village, Glen Spey, NY.  She was a member of St. Jacobi Lutheran Church, Shohola, PA.

A family statement reads: “Christine was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and loved nothing more than spending time with her family.”  She will be forever cherished in our hearts and missed by all.

Christine loved spending time in the kitchen using her love language of food to always bring family and friends together for every and any occasion, touching the lives of many both personally and without the use of words. 

She is survived by her husband: Bruce Elvin, five children:  Vincent Garufi of Virginia Beach, Kimberlee Elvin and Emma Magnuson of Arizona, Nicole Elvin of Barryville, Danielle Elvin of Barryville and Jake Elvin and Taylor Adler of Barryville, two grandchildren: Blake Elvin and Bethany Adler-Elvin: mother, Karen Flowers of Eldred, two sisters: Gina Wood and her husband Rob of Virginia Beach, Elaine Neiger and her husband Don of Narrowsburg, godson/nephew: Nicholas Neiger, nephews: Fred Logue, Matthew Jette, and Seth Jette, niece: Serena Ahmed-Arroyo.

Christine is predeceased by her father: Vincent.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday the 12th of November at 11:30 at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church 108 Glen Dr. Shohola, PA 18458 With a celebration of life following immediately after at the Park Bar in Yulan.
