Robert E. Moore, of Barryville, NY, passed away on March 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A man of discipline, love, and family, Robert was a passionate outdoorsman, patriot, scientist, and entrepreneur. He graduated from Glen Ridge High School, NJ, in 1959, where he pursued sacks on the football field, and from The Pennsylvania State University in 1971, where he pursued a degree in chemistry. From 1961 until 1966, Robert served in Platoon 270 of the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at the Boca Chica Key naval base during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He achieved the rank of Sergeant E-5, and proudly wore his USMC cap until the end. Robert traveled around the world with Jing and throughout his long and successful career as an international pharmaceutical consultant. But his heart remained with his woods and pond, where he passed peacefully from the effects of leukemia among his family. He will be missed and honored. Predeceased by his parents, John and Rita Moore, and sister Diane Parrett. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jing Moore; children Joseph Moore and Eileen Moore; stepson Ran Tao; brothers Roger (Ginny) Moore, Ronnie (Janet) Moore, and Richard (Cathy) Moore; and grandchildren Owen, Julian, Catherine, and Wei. Family and friends are invited from 11 to 1 PM on Saturday, April 6th, at Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the visitation at 1 PM.
