Elfriede Galuschak

Elfriede “Fritzie” Galuschak, age 88, of Shohola, PA, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her only son, George.

Fritzie was born in New York City, and moved to Shohola, PA as a young girl. After marrying George Galuschak, she settled in New Jersey where she earned her teaching certificate from William Paterson University.

Fritzie had a passion for cooking, reading, quilting, and traveling. She was a member of St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Shohola, PA, and cared deeply about environmental issues.

Fritzie will be remembered for her warm heart, her dedication to her family and community, and her commitment to the environment. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.   Fritzie’s husband George passed away on July 9, 2017.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home in Barryville, NY, on June 29 at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM.  Internment will follow the service in German Hill Cemetery.
