Marjorie Alice Thumann Obit Marjorie Alice Thumann, formerly of Beach Lake, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. She was 93 years old. Marjorie or Marge as she was known to friends and family was born September, 20, 1928, the fifth child of Chester and Edith (Franklin) White’s six children.

Much of her early years were spent with her brothers and sisters in East Benton in a home built by her father. She was a graduate of both Benton Vocational and Wayne Commercial Schools. She summered in Beach Lake, her mother’s birth place, and worked at the Central House Boarding House. There she met her future husband, Alfred H.Thumann. They were married July 1, 1951 and moved to New Jersey to run Fred’s Delicatessen in East Rutherford. In 1963 they returned to Beach Lake to assume ownership of the Central House for the next twenty-eight years.

Marge was a lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church, an active Beach Lake Fire Company auxiliary member for many years, as well as, an active gardener. She will alway be remembered for her faith, sunny countenance and perpetual smile. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Surviving Marge are her two sons and their wives, Alfred and Tammy Thumann, Beach Lake; Daniel and Mary Thumann, Beach Lake; four grandchildren Craig Thumann, Beach Lake; Ryan Thumann, Damascus; Adam Thumann and wife Elizabeth, Calkins and Anne Thumann and husband Joshua Robbins, Beach Lake and two great-grandchildren Owen and Finn Robbins.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Beach Lake Cemetery, Beach Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church or the Beach Lake Fire Company.
