Lucille M. (Lohner) Zimmermann, 91, a longtime resident of Eldred, passed away July 2, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Schneider) Lohner, she was born on April 27, 1933 in Queens, NY.
Lucille was the widow of Paul G. Zimmermann, who had passed away December 5, 2010. They were married for 56 years, they were lifetime sweethearts. Lucille was a Registered Nurse, she was a graduate of Norwegian Region Nursing School. She retired from St. John’s Hospital in Queens, NY. Lucille was a member of St. Ann RC Church, Shohola, PA. She was also a member of the Highland Seniors.
A family statement reads: “Lucille was a wonderful, loving, caring and giving person. She took great care of her family. Family was very important. She will truly be missed by all.”
Lucille is survived by her children: Anne Zimmermann and her fiancee’ Michael Muryn of Matamoras, Pa, Jean Miterko and her husband Robert of Wantagh, NY, Paul Zimmermann of Eldred, NY, Ruth Sorg and her husband Walter of Wantagh, NY: six grandchildren: Brian McAllister, Katie Jackim and her husband Herman, Andrew Miterko, Alyssa Miterko, Sean Sorg, Megan Sorg; two great grandchildren: Maggie McAllister, Zoe Fetherman: sister: Jean Sussmann of Prompton Plains, NJ, brother Richard Lohner of Maspeth, NY; cousin: Dr. Donald Lohner and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lucille is predeceased by her husband Paul and brother Paul Lohner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 10:30am at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 SR 97, Barryville, NY 12719. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11am at St. Ann RC Church, Shohola, PA.
Cremation will follow mass and burial of cremains will be in St Anthony’s of Padua Cemetery, Eldred, NY.
Donation can be made in Lucille’s name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
