Darlene A. (Kmetz) Rembish, a longtime resident of the area, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Seasons Bellair, Clearwater, FL. The daughter of the late John and Ann (Kopko) Kmetz, she was born August 28, 1941 in Passaic, NJ. She was 81 years old.

Darlene was retired from Sullivan County Probations. She was married for 57 years to the love of her life Stanley Rembish, he had passed away on March 2, 2019. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake RC Church, Lake Huntington, NY. She was a member of the Cochecton Womans Club, and the Sullivan County Government Birthday Club.

A family statement reads: “Darlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked very hard to provide for her family. She was always by Stanley’s side, she also enjoyed Monticello Raceway, where they had many friends. She will be missed by her friends, but most of all by her family.”

Survivors include their five children: Dee Dumas and her husband, Frank of Greenville, TN, Susan Ziolkowski of Peoria, AZ, Stanley Rembish and his wife, Michelle of Beach Lake, PA, Carolyn Rembish of Lake Huntington, NY, Robert Rembish and his wife, Michelle of Sayville, NY; eleven grandchildren: Jennifer McCarthy and her husband Chris, Joey Ackermann, Marcelle Bunting, Krys Ziolkowski and his wife Charlene, Kayleen Ziolkowski, Stanley Rembish Jr., Kayla Rembish, Megan Rembish, Shawn Godwin, Grace Godwin, Kendall Rembish, and nine great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10am at Our Lady of the Lake RC Church, Lake Huntington, NY. Burial will follow in Laurel Cemetery, Cochecton Center, NY. Donation can be made in Darlene’s name to: Alzheimer’s Association. Arranges are under the care of the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 SR97, Barryville, NY 12719, 845-557-8010
